(St. George’s, Grenada) 18th May, 2017— The Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) has planned a series of meetings with tourism stakeholders in Carriacou to discuss licensing requirements under the GTA Act. This is an extremely important process in regulating the industry.

The GTA established under the Grenada Tourism Authority Act #42 of 2013 is charged with the responsibility of developing the Tourism Sector for Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.  In keeping with this mandate, the Quality Assurance Department of the GTA is required to carry out the following functions as defined by the Act:

  1. Register, license and classify tourist accommodations and tourism enterprise according to the standard of amenities provided

All owners and operators of hotels, guest houses, villas, apartments, cottages; tour operators, taxi drivers, car rental operators, water sports operators, tourist guides and vendors are invited to meet with the GTA representatives on the days indicated below to discuss the licensing requirements under the GTA Act and the benefits available. These benefits include visibility for the tourism enterprise through GTA marketing activities and on the Pure Grenada destination website
