(St. George’s, Grenada) 21st March, 2017— In Grenada, the only thing that can match the pristine beauty and our naturally friendly people, is the feeling of safety that our visitors enjoy during their stay in the Spice of the Caribbean. Grenada is surely a safe haven for visitors and continues to enjoy very low levels of crime. In fact, this was recognised at a meeting of CARICOM in Guyana earlier this year. Furthermore, at a Ministerial Press Conference on February 23rd, the Minister of Health & Social Security, the Honourable Nickolas Steele stated, “there is only one island that has not seen an increase in crime and that is Grenada. We thank God and our people for the peace we maintain.”

Thus far for 2017, Grenada has not recorded any serious visitor related crime and the authorities on island intend to keep it that way.  Superintendent Sylvan Mc Intyre of the Community Relations Department of the Royal Grenada Police Force commented, “in the last two years we recorded only two unfortunate visitor related incidents however for many years our track record was blemish free.” He further stated, “Grenada is considered a visitor’s paradise and records show that we are one of the safest destinations in the Caribbean.

Visitors have also shared their views on Grenada’s safety. In response to a question on Grenada’s safety one TripAdvisor contributor wrote, “It is absolutely safe; by far our greatest trip to date”. Another wrote, “No problems shopping and touring the island on our own.” So, book your vacation to Pure Grenada today. You are free to explore, relax and indulge in Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
