St. George’s, Grenada – 20th August, 2018 – Pure Grenada, the Spice of the Caribbean has been recognized for its cruise and yachting experiences. For the second straight year, Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique was named a Top-Rated Southern Caribbean Cruise Destination in Cruise Critic’s third annual Cruisers’ Choice Destination Awards. The award is based entirely on consumer ratings and reviews submitted on, the world’s leading cruise review site. The destination received high praise from cruisers.

One of the reviews read, “This was my favorite port. Looks like a fairy tale village. People are friendly. We walked through the historic tunnel. Climbed to the top of the hill to see the ruins of an old church and steeple, took pictures of the ship from up there…”

Speaking about the second consecutive top rating by, CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) Patricia Maher said, “On behalf of Pure Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique, we are truly humbled by this award and thrilled to be named a top destination for cruisers. So far in 2018, growth in our cruise sector is trending upward and we will continue to work on elevating the product and experiences, to exceed expectations and keep Grenada top-of-mind with visitors to our shores.”

In the yachting sector, Grenada received the ‘Spirit of Yachting’ award at the closing ceremony of the Grenada Charter Yacht Show at the Port Louis Marina on July 25th.

The award was created by Select Yacht Charters as a way to recognize and thank people or organizations that have contributed to the goodwill and positive profile of the yachting industry. Grenada was awarded because of its understanding and dedication to the yachting industry and support of both local and transient yachts, which had a huge impact on the show.

The Grenada Charter Yacht Show was designed to be both educational and fun for charter brokers, central agents, yacht managers, captains and crews. They got the opportunity to learn more about the offerings in Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique, enabling them to better sell the destination to their clients.
