Pure Grenada is Caribbean Destination of the Year

The Tri-island Destination Continues To Be Recognized Around The World

St. George’s, Grenada – December 8, 2017 – Pure Grenada, the Spice of the Caribbean is ending the year in high spirits as its recognition in the international community continues to grow. The tri-island destination which includes Carriacou and Petite Martinique is celebrating after capturing two prestigious titles in the Caribbean Journal’s Travel Awards 2017. Grenada was named ‘Destination of the Year 2017’ while Chief Executive Officer of the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) Patricia Maher was named Caribbean Tourism Director of the Year 2017.

The Grenada Tourism Authority Launches Underwater Sculpture Design Competition

St. George’s, Grenada – November 30, 2017 – Citizens of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique now have an opportunity to add to the legacy of the Underwater Sculpture Park. The Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) in collaboration with the Grenada Underwater Sculpture Park Management Inc. (GUSMI) have launched a sculpture design competition. The initiative invites Grenadian nationals to submit designs for new sculptures that will be added to the park over the next five years as part of a strategic development plan.

GTA Launches ‘Tourism and Me’ Children’s Booklet

St. George’s, Grenada – November 20, 2017 – The Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) has taken an important step in its quest to ensure that tourism develops into a sustainable sector locally. The Authority launched its ‘Tourism and Me’ booklet for children on Thursday 16th November at its headquarters on the Carenage. The booklet seeks to educate 8 to 12 year olds about the important tourism sector with topics such as: What is Tourism, Who is a Tourist, the Tourism Product and Sustainable Tourism.

 St. George’s, Grenada – October 30th, 2017 – Pure Grenada has been recognised by the prestigious Wall Street Journal newspaper as one of the “10 hot destinations to travel to in 2018” in the world. This accolade appeared in the October 26th Wall Street Journal’s Travel News article. The story was also carried by the BBC UK, which included all the countries making the list.

PURE GRENADA SHOWCASES DIVERSE OFFERINGS DURING SOTIC

 St. George’s, Grenada – October 24, 2017 – From October 9-13, the Government of Grenada and the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) hosted the annual State of the Industry Conference by the Caribbean Tourism Organization. The five-day conference gave the GTA the opportunity to showcase its diverse offerings to the delegates from Canada, the Caribbean, the U.K., the U.S., and Europe.

Pure Grenada Looks Forward to Strong Projected Growth in Upcoming Winter Season

(St. George’s, Grenada) 24th October 2017— The 2017/2018-cruise ship season will officially begin on Wednesday 25th October,2017 with the inaugural arrival of the Pullmantur cruises Zenith. The ship is expected to dock at the St. George’s cruise port from 9am with a capacity of 1,828 and 620 crew. Though the 25th is a public holiday, the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) is encouraging all taxi drivers, tour operators, vendors and citizens to warmly welcome our visitors.
