St. George’s, Grenada W.I. – March 3, 2020 – As Grenada’s Ministry of Health continues to work with all stakeholders to implement strong measures in response to the external threat of COVID-19, the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation and Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) met with stakeholders to review and action its communications strategy. Presently, there are no reported cases of the coronavirus in Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
11th December, 2019—To crown the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s (CTO) Year of Festivals in 2019, Pure Grenada, the Spice of the Caribbean debuted its newest event, Festival of Lights on the 6th and 7th of December. The Festival took place on the Carenage, which is one of the most stunning spots in the destination. The beauty of the festoon lights on the Carenage was further enhanced by new spotlights, which lined the entire harbor area, lighting the historical buildings in a multi-coloured glow as well as a new laser light show. Added to the ambience created by the lights was a mixture of carols, steel plan music, parang music, local cuisine, a Santa’s grotto and a night market that provided all the Grenadian Christmas goodies such as sorrel, ginger and household items. Performances by local artists and groups such as the PBC Boys Choir, Sonika McKie, Kareem Alexis, Emily Rapier and Hess and the Boys crowned the entire affair.
ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA – 20th November, 2019 – The Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) has successfully completed its ‘Career Series’ in twenty Secondary schools across the tri-island state. The GTA team shared with over 500 students in forms three and four, the many career opportunities that the industry has to offer and the important role Tourism plays in the economy and their lives. Presently, the industry employs over 10,000 people and contributes almost a quarter to the Gross Domestic Product through direct and indirect sources.

GEORGE’S, GRENADA – 15th October, 2019 – Pure Grenada, the Spice of the Caribbean will welcome home celebrity publicist Yvette Noel-Schure on Tuesday as she participates in another project that puts the spotlight on the destination. Noel-Shure who hails from the big Parish St. Andrew’s is proud of her roots and she is a famous daughter of the soil.

GEORGE’S, GRENADA – 14th October, 2019 – Pure Grenada, the Spice of the Caribbean’s newest festival event is sure to deliver your first taste of Christmas, set in the picturesque Carenage harbour. Festival of the Lights, launched on Tuesday October 8th is gearing up to be a spectacular family event of lights, food, music and fun. The event will take place on December 6 and 7 with a signature line up of activities to truly make it a family affair.
ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA – 8th October, 2019 – During the months of January 2019 – August 2019, visitors from neighboring Caribbean islands accounted for 18% of the market share for Grenada’s tourist arrivals. In an effort to continue to promote Pure Grenada’s tourism offerings throughout the region, the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) has launched the “Something for Everyone” campaign. As the destination’s first exclusive regional multi-platform campaign, the initiative will showcase the diverse experiences neighboring travelers can enjoy in Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
St. George’s, Grenada – 17th September, 2019 – More than thirty tour guides in Grenada completed phase one of training facilitated by the Aquila Center for Cruise Excellence, the official training partner of the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA). Sponsored by the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA), the four-day training course was an opportunity for the tour guides to become master storytellers about the experiences in their country while becoming the first to have the opportunity to receive internationally recognized certification.
ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA – 30th August, 2019 – Pure Grenada, the Spice of the Caribbean’s sustainable efforts were recognized as the destination walked away with three titles in the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s (CTO) Sustainable Tourism Awards. The ceremony was held in St.Vincent and the Grenadines on Thursday evening. The first award went to the Carriacou Maroon and Stringband Music Festival Committee for Culture and Heritage Protection. The Committee ensures that the festival happens annually in the last weekend in April with a heavy focus on preserving the African heritage and traditions of Carriacou through an authentic display of maroon culture.
ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA – August 14, 2019 – Minister for Tourism & Civil Aviation, Hon. Dr. Clarice Modeste-Curwen hosted a special appreciation dinner in celebration of the Grenada Chelsea Flower Show Team’s recent achievement. At this year’s Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Chelsea Flower Show, Team Grenada was awarded a 15th gold medal for their stunning exhibit “A Carnival of Exotic Tropical Blooms”. During the dinner on Tuesday August 6 at the Aquarium Restaurant, Minister Modeste-Curwen heard from the team’s lead designer Mrs. Catherine John that preparations for the show start from August of the previous year and it is a huge team effort by Grenadians both on island and in England.
ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA – July 23, 2019 – It was a night of glitz and glamour as the tourism stakeholders exemplifying service excellence and innovation were awarded. The 2019 Tourism Awards 2019 took place at the Spice Island Beach Resort on Thursday July 18 under the theme, ‘Celebrating Successes, Looking to a Bright and Sustainable Future.’ The initiative was conceptualized to celebrate the industry’s success by recognizing tourism businesses and stakeholders make significant contributions. The awards criteria included, “length of service, quality of service, feedback (online or otherwise), unique selling propositions, innovative business aspects and other contributions to the sector.
