30 Years of British Airways

In April, British Airways and Pure Grenada celebrated 30 years of great partnerships that allow our friends in the UK and Europe to fly to our tri-island state and experience the Spice of the Caribbean.

We’ve had lots of exciting events and activities in the UK and Grenada to commemorate this great journey. The celebrations started with a ceremony at Maurice Bishop International Airport followed by an entertaining meet and greet that gave British Airways passengers a sample of sweet steel pan music and refreshing local beverages.

Joining in to ensure that your experience is nothing short of amazing are our world-class British Airways Holidays partners Spice Island Beach Resort,  Calabash Luxury Boutique Hotel & Spa and Coyaba Beach Resort, who joined in celebrating 30 years of operation and commitment to service excellence.

Over in the UK we ran a short story competition and asked 1,000 Grenadian nationals and friends of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique to submit a 100-word story of their fondest memory of the three islands.  We are delighted to announce the winner Ms. Elizabeth Mullings who also collaborated with Grenadian Photographer, Andy Johnson to create this beautiful photograph at Annandale Waterfalls. We’ll leave you with Elizabeth’s story to ignite fond memories and encourage you to book your escape to Pure Grenada today.

A Short Story:

" The plane doors had now been opened for a while now, I stood in the isle anxiously awaiting the chance to finally meet my mum’s Island. After what felt like a long wait, my time had finally come, nervously, I took my first step from the plane, the warm humidity immediately hitting my face, I closed my eyes, took a deep breathe in, and thought, I’m home. As I opened my eyes and looked around, all I saw was green green green. I remembered thinking, wow, so paradise really does exist. This was my very first experience of visiting sweet Grenada."
